Day by day itinerary

The Throughout Cambodia by land 7 Days will bring you an in-depth look at Siem Reap – Phnom Penh. Firstly, we Arrive in Phnom Penh, capital city of Kingdom of Cambodia and spend time here. Next, we depart to the Royal Palace & SilverPagoda, the National museum, Tuol Sleng Museum, Russian Market or Centre Market, … Then we reach Udong, former Capital of Cambodia. Visit Phnom Preah Reach Trap, a mountain topped with the spires of stupas rears from the plain like a fairytale castle. After the visit, continue your trip to Kampong ChnangWe will start a very special and busy day as you will explore Angkor complex. We also arrive at the well preserved 11th century mountain top Angkorian temple of Phnom Banan. We continue to visit the famous temple: Angkor Wat and go sightseeing the Sunset.

Day 1: Arrive Phnom Penh, Cambodia (D)

Arrive in Phnom Penh, capital city of Kingdom of Cambodia, meet our guide and g to your hotel for check in.

In the evening, enjoy a leisure dinner at the restaurant by the river. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Day 2: Explore Phnom Penh and surroundings (B)

In the morning after breakfast depart from the hotel for a private tour of the Royal Palace & SilverPagoda, the National museum, Tuol Sleng Museum-the Museum of Genocidal Crimes and Preahkeo Morokot.

In the afternoon, transfer to visit Killing fields of Cheung Ek, then free time for shopping at Russian Market or Centre Market.

Free time in the evening. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Day 3: Phnom Penh – Kamphong Chang – Battambang by car (B, L)

After breakfast, drive along the National road no. 5 for 40km to the northwest of Phnom Penh, we will reach Udong, former Capital of Cambodia. Visit Phnom Preah Reach Trap, a mountain topped with the spires of stupas rears from the plain like a fairytale castle. Challenge yourself with over 500 steps of the front entrance to the top of the mountain or you can choose easier entry from the back side.

Have lunch at local restaurant on the way.

After the visit, continue your trip to Kampong Chang. Have lunch at a local restaurant at your own expense. Later, you will take a boat trip to visit a floating village on Tonle Sap Lake. This village consists of over 2,000 houses. You will see the real local daily life here. Kampong Chnang is also well-known for its fine clay pottery. Visit a local family, where you will learn how people make lovely pottery products by the most simple way. Overnight in Battambang.

Day 4: Battambang – Siem Reap (B, L)

After breakfast at your hotel, discover the city of Battambang, a charming big city where you can watch the elegant houses in the French colonial style along the river.

First, you drive to the Bamboo Railway Station that has been set up by the villagers to facilitate the transportation of goods and people. The train in itself is very basic – one platform on 4 wheels activated by a small motor. Sitting on the platform we travel the 8km to the next station and back through beautiful landscape and rice paddies.

Next, a few kilometers further south you arrive at the well preserved 11th century mountain top Angkorian temple of Phnom Banan. After climbing the 350+steps you are treated to a wonderfully peaceful setting with superb views across the surrounding countryside, with small villages dotting the endless rice paddies, punctuated with the characteristic sugar palm trees a wonderful sunset location…

Have lunch in Battambang and then drive for 3 hours to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, check in your hotel and overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 5: Siem Reap – Explore the World Heritage Sites by car (B, D)

After breakfast, you will start to explore Angkor complex with:

Banteay Srei: nearly everyone’s favorite site. The special charm of this temple lies in its compactsize, remarkable state of preservation, and the excellence of its decorative carving

Banteay Samre: Its rose-colored sandstone walls are decorated with carvings and bas-reliefs, which are among the most accomplished Angkor has to offer.

We continue to visit the fabulous Ta Prohm embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers. Ta Prohm was built in the 12th century. It’s a Buddhist temple dedicated to the mother of King Jayavarman VII.

Pre Rup temple was built in the 10th century during the reign of King Rajendravarman II.Evening, enjoy dinner with Apsara Show at a Khmer restaurant.

Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 6: Siem Reap – Explore the World Heritage Sites by tuk tuk (B, L)

After breakfast, start a very special and busy day as you will explore some of Angkor’s most beautiful temples. You will visit the biggest temples of Angkor complex by tuk tuk, popular and traditional vehicle of local people.

You will visit the West Gate of Angkor Thom – undiscovered by mass tourist. The ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century)

See the South Gate, Bayon Temple- unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara

Baphuon Temple: lying just to the north of Bayon, a pyramidal representation of mythical Mont Meru

The Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas

The Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King

In the afternoon, you will visit the famous temple: Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is a World Heritage Site since 1992, famous for its beauty and splendor. Angkor Wat features the longest continuous bas-relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls and narrates stories from Hindu mythology. View Sunset at Angkor Wat before returning to your hotel by coach.

Your free time in the evening for walking at busy pub street. Pop up at a bar for cool drink or shopping at Angkor Night Market.

Overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 7: Siem Reap Departure (B)

After breakfast, take a cruise on Tonle Sap Lake for 1 hour, visit floating village and fisherman life, then back to vsit Chantie Ecole-Artisan D’Angkor and Old Market. At the noon time, check out your hotel and in a good time, drive to the airport for your departure flight.
